SHWindow Hi
Sandra --
1. At the March 11 City Council meeting to
continue changing the General Plan, the Arts Element was rescued -- thanks to
Sharon Crull and Greg Pitts. The winners in this new creative economy are,
guess what, creative places! We also have Sharon and Greg to thank for
recognizing the economic benefit of cultural diversity. It's difficult
to comprehend what the City is up against with the Council majority unless
you view the proceedings yourself -- so here's a clip of the discussion on just
the cultural diversity issue. Sadly, this kind of thing has been going on for
years.
Maybe it is time for the people to rescue the whole
thing? Read on and take the survey below to assess whether there is
support for a ballot Initiative to adopt the 2010 General Plan Update (GPU)
on the November ballot. A ballot measure would mean adopting the GPU as it
was designed by the people and approved by the Planning Commission in 2011.
It has been dissected at the City Council for the last 3 years. Now it is
almost incomprehensible. VIDEO CLIP
