This Tuesday, 6PM,
Vintage Hall, at the Planning Commission meeting there are 2 items that
bear watching: 1. A discussion of medium density housing, which
includes the sizes of houses relative to lot size & the 2nd unit issue.
This could be the opening round of changing the zoning laws, affecting the
Housing Needs Assessment, the subject of the contentious meeting last week
at the Firehouse. The purpose of putting it on the agenda is vague. The details.
2. The 2nd item
is to review the rules about wine tasting rooms. Key here is the language
of the only legal General Plan we have, 1993, which clearly prioritizes
local serving in service commercial zoning. Check the highlighted fine print.
