UPDATE:
Thanks to Alan Galbraith who addressed the legal
24-hour notice discrepancies of the 8AM General Plan Special Meeting in an
email to the City Clerk, the meeting has been cancelled as of 4:46PM this
afternoon. The public will now get the opportunity to
attend a regular meeting with the GP agendized normally. I urge
attendance at either the remaining 7:30AM meeting tomorrow or at the next
regular Council meeting to protest the whole Special Meeting tactic.
The 7:30AM Special Mtg. tomorrow is a closed session for the Calderon
lawsuit and the only public input allowed is at Public Forum at the
beginning of the meeting.
Possibly at issue with the Calderon lawsuit are
the "non-financial terms" of the settlement, which may be
imminent. Apparently, an agreement to settle litigation that requires
terms that are subject to pubic hearings, cannot be approved in closed
session. We shall see.
