A quick report with Tree Tunnel and General Plan
news:
1. CalTrans is scheduling maintenance of the
Tree Tunnel for the middle of December!!! This is great and gives us
all hope that its appearance will improve. So far it is not certain
that all the suckers can be or will be trimmed off but I will check on
that. Ideally, it would be a good thing if there could be a Thank You
Lunch for both the CalTrans crew and our St. Helena City crew who take care
of the Tunnel for us. I have asked Beringer's if they could host it
and they are receptive but a decision has not been made. In the
meantime, put a good word in with Beringer's if you know anyone there and,
of course, give the crew a big thumbs up thank you and a honk when you
drive through as they work!
And, THANK YOU ALL for getting behind this
effort!!
2. The City Council is closing in on their
changed General Plan. The problem is no one knows the extent of all the
changes -- there is no chart and, although, some changes were attached to
Staff Reports for some Council meetings, it is near impossible for the
public to piece together and line-item decipher the total new version of
the General Plan. So I made a chart. Took a week. I have one Element to go
and when that is done everyone will get another email with it attached --
and a pro&con analysis (chart maker's prerogative). The email will only
go to people on the email list, not Tree Tunnel petitioners, some of whom
live elsewhere and may not be interested in the GP.
3. Lastly, check the 2 new ideas on the Idea page.
